Let's Consider Our Dorks Excepted
So here I am at UMASS Gardner sittin' down in the cafe, and I overhear the conversation that the mn behind me is, well, trying to have w/ the person across the table. He is reading a comic, and soon begins to have this "only child type" of gigle. Come to find out that he is gigling about the knomb or elf or something being trapt in a mystic castle. This is a high light of his day, and he's very happy. I'm just sitting behind him, well, laughing my ass off because he's such a dork, but that's not my point.
My point is the people's idea of what happened at Columbine. They take one look at some dork and become afraid that they'll get shot, and then make fun of them behind their back instead. What they don't understand is what I discovered from the dork behind me. The man's dorkiness is what makes him harmless. It's what we do that changes them. This guy was happy w/ who he was, and in the world in his head he is excepted. But when someone gives him shit for being a dork, that's when they know they're not, so they'll become the messanger's hazzard. The messanger being the one who didn't except them.
